I appreciated the tips! I did not know that my kitties should be getting a little bit of canned food along with their dry food.  They will love it!

I am a new cat owner and am very confused by all the contradictory advise I’ve been getting.  I got by cat from a rescue and the people there told me to feed her only dry food.  Others have told me canned food is best.  I work during the day and don’t think it would be good to leave canned food out all day—I was thinking I’d do a combination of dry food in the morning and canned food at night—what do you recommend?

Dr. Gaspar -  I have a male cat who is about to turn 5 in May.  Little Man has horrible bad breath.  In this article, it says that bad breath can be an indication of sickness.  He doesn’t act sick - he is very healthy looking, with a luxurious and shiny coat, he’s bright and alert and very playful and affectionate.  He has a good appetite and is quick to let me know when one of the food bowls is empty.  I have four other cats, and they do not go outdoors.  What can bad feline breath be an indication of? —Kathy
